Printed Finger Blocks
I really started to feel the lack of exercise from Covid-19 recently. I can go for runs and do bodyweight exercised to help but I needed something to help with finger strength.
The pockets are relatively deep so they aren’t the most challenging holds. But they serve my purposes perfectly.
I printed them in PETG, turned the temperature up and kept retractions off. Not only does this increase the strength a little, it also produces lots of surface imperfections. This gives the surface a bit of a rougher feel. Another option would be to use settings like “Fuzzy Skin” in Cura to add texture instead.
Rather than screwing them onto a wall, these blocks are designed to be hung on ropes. I prefer the additional challenge of having to control the swing, and it provides a way of mounting them without marking any walls. (I’m living in a rented house right now)
I’d like to do a refresh in a bit, something a little more challengine once i’ve regained some strength. Hopefully a design thats less fillament hungry too.
