Fifine Mic Stand

Its 2020, Covid-19 is tearing across the country and with all the web calls I thought it was high time I got a decent microphone.
Unfortunately the microphone I bought (The Fifine Usb Podcast Condenser Microphone for anyone interested) comes with a measly little tripod. Pletny stable enough but difficult to fit on an already cramped disk without getting in the way of the keyboard/mouse/etc.

So I got to work designing a boom arm for it. The arm still uses the original tripod but allows it to extend out past the legs over the desk. Because it is still freestanding it required a counterweight. I found whatever was heavy that I didn’t mind losing and ended up with an electric screwdriver stand along with spare gimbal counterweight. Overall I think the design looks pretty stylish.

Since my design is made of cobbled together bits I had lying on my shelf. The uploaded files have versions for 7-9.5mm rod in 0.5mm increments and the weight mounting is made to be more generic with counterbored through holes for M3 bolts.
